The focal point of the research ‘interphase phenomena’ is concerned with the processes and mechanisms at phase boundaries and in the boundary lavers which are formed at these phase boundaries in fluid flows. The essential aspects are the material and energy transport as well as the process-dependent changes of the phase boundary and the boundary layer.

The research project of the research group ‘interphase phenomena’ concentrates on the interdisciplinary analysis and the sound mathematic – scientific description of material, impulse and energy transport processes through boundary layers, taking into account the surface reactions and the changes in the phase boundaries and/or the pore structure associated with them.
